I know for me it always has been. I lost weight in Mexico because I had to walk everywhere. Even though I ate plenty of tacos and bakery goods, it all got burned off. Walking wasn’t a chore, either. Where I was, the weather was fabulous, and the people were nice. I was there six months, and lost about twenty pounds while getting nicely toned.

I can imagine losing even more if I were in, say, rural China. I’d still be walking everywhere, and I’ll bet you I’d be a lot pickier about the food.

You could also plop me down in Japan and feed me sushi. The weight would just fall right off. I can’t stand raw fish. Miso soup is great. I’d probably live on that and buckwheat noodles.

I know that living in East Texas is NOT conducive to losing weight. Eating is entertainment here, and we are the SOUTH. You know southern cooking… And you have to be careful where you walk. People on rural roads have been known to get beer bottles chucked at them.

Okay. I will NOT make excuses. But I would like to take a trip.
