I just bought a new bike. It’s a Schwinn of some sort. It has eight gears (I think) and was insanely cheap. I didn’t want to get a more expensive one, because I’m not sure if I’ll ride it yet. At least not regularly. It depends on if my husband and son will wait for me to catch up to them, because I’m not keen on riding the trails around here alone. They go through the woods, and there can be some characters back there. Scary. Perhaps I should also sign up for martial arts while I’m on this fitness kick.

At any rate, the bike is a hybrid–meaning it’s not a mountain bike, nor is it a street bike. The tires and suspension are somewhere in between. I wanted an easier ride, since I’m just getting started again. At the same time, I don’t want to totally wipe out on the trails.

The cat is angry. She’d rather I stay on the couch.
