I remember the very first luxury item I wanted. It was one of the Movado Watches, and it had a black face with a single diamond on it. I remember it being featured in magazines like Vogue repeatedly, and I wanted it so badly I can remember it to this day!

I’ve been thinking about watches because I definitely have jewelry on my mind. My brother just got married, and both he and his wife have beautiful new rings. What my brother doesn’t have, however, is a decent watch. So I got to thinking about how cool of a wedding gift it would be if someone, myself or my parents, bought my brother a watch. It would definitely last a lot longer than the serving dishes we bought for a wedding present! The bonus would be that every time he checked the time, he would be reminded of the person who gave it to him, so it would be very special.

Here’s a picture of the watch I think would look fabulous on him, since he’s always been a casual sort of guy.

It’s from Movado’s 800 series, and it looks sleek and sporty all at the same time to me. I guess their design team is still going strong!

I’m surprised more people don’t do this for wedding gifts. I think the absolutely perfect thing would be to give both the bride and the groom a watch. It just wouldn’t get any more memorable than that!
