I can’t believe how stupid I was about auto insurance for many years. Really, it was one of those things that I didn’t think about. Well, I didn’t think about it until my husband came home one day and told me that he’d purchased liability on a car for thirty bucks. I was absolutely incredulous. I had never shopped around, even though I had suspected that there might be cheap auto insurance in Texas.

Well, it turns out that there is. I switched insurance companies and saved fifty bucks a month! That’s a manicure and pedicure. Or eating a decent restaurant. It’s paying the gym membership for one month. So basically, by shopping around a bit, I get my gym membership for free. At least that’s one way to look at it.

It’s pretty easy to get auto insurance quotes. I went to a site called cheap-autoinsurance.com, entered my zip code, and found several companies literally at my fingertips where I could get quotes. How easy is that? If you have car insurance, even if you think your rates are reasonable, you should check this out. There is no way you will know for sure that you have the lowest rate unless you check. Since there is nothing to lose, why not? Shopping around definitely paid off for me!
