Postcards are definitely not just for vacations anymore. They are an incredibly economical way to promote your business. I don’t know how many times I’ve received a postcard in the mail from a company I do business with and decided to go to their sale, or in the case of my dentist, get my teeth cleaned. If I were going to market a business with postcards, and I may, I would make them very attractive. The best postcards are the ones that you want to hang up on your refrigerator for a while because they are so visually interesting. That is exactly what you want your customers to do. I’d also use one of the postcard mailing services so that I wouldn’t have to do any of the addressing and mailing myself. They’re not expensive, and it would save a lot of time.
I’m considering doing this myself for a small business that I’m trying to get off the ground. The key thing for me is getting a mailing list that is demographically relevant. Since the business is art-related, postcards would be absolutely perfect. I can upload my own artwork and use that as the background for the postcards. Hopefully, someone will be thrilled enough to put it on their refrigerator!
